Programs and Services Overview

As part of one of the nation’s largest health charities, United Cerebral Palsy affiliates are leaders in providing innovative programs and services to more than 176,000 children and adults with disabilities every day.
Our staff and volunteers are engaged ambassadors helping us fulfill our mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities.
UCP is local, providing Adult Day Programs in both San Diego and Escondido, Assistive Technology, Children’s Services including The McBeth Foundation Toy Lending Library, Equipment Recycling, Family Support, Grants & Funding, Information & Referral and Respitality. We serve thousands of people in San Diego County every year.
Our Programs
Adult Day Programs
Structured day programs in San Diego and Escondido for adults with developmental disabilities.
Assistive Technology
San Diego Assistive Technology Center (SDATC) — adapted computers, AAC devices, The McBeth Foundation Toy Lending Library, and more.
Children’s Services
The McBeth Foundation Toy Lending Library, and support for children with disabilities and their families.
Equipment Lending
Free lending of gently used durable medical equipment — wheelchairs, walkers, standers, bath chairs, and more.
Family Support
Connecting families to information and community resources, including support groups and a monthly newsletter.
Grants & Funding
Assistance obtaining durable medical equipment or covering disability-related expenses when no other funding exists.
Information & Referral
Information on cerebral palsy, services available, and referrals to appropriate community resources.
Pediatric DME Loan Program
Loaner durable medical equipment for children, made possible through Rest Haven Children’s Health Fund.
Respitality
Mini-vacations for parents of children with special needs — hotel stays combined with respite care funding.
Respite Care
Non-medical, in-home respite care for families in North County, funded by the San Diego Regional Center.
Voice Options Program
Free speech-generating devices (AAC) for eligible Californians through the Voice Options Program.
